Located in the heart of Bordeaux, BIS has over 35 years experience in helping students achieve their potential by combining a bilingual education and an international learning environment. With students from over 25 different nationalities, our school community benefits from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. By keeping class sizes small (maximum 16 students), we create an environment where each student can fully engage in this multicultural setting.

BIS is the only institution in the region that is accredited as a 'school of excellence' by the Council of °ÙÐãÖ±²¥s. Our unique approach to teaching and learning is based on a comprehensive and inclusive bilingual curriculum. Early Learning and Primary, under contract with the French Education Nationale, enables students to follow a fully bilingual programme. Our Middle School follows both the Education Nationale and the Cambridge International Lower Secondary programme. In Upper Secondary, we offer internationally recognised Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels.

At the heart of our mission to cultivate proactive, responsible global citizens lies a strong commitment to academic support. Our experienced, multinational teaching team provides a stimulating environment where active and differentiated learning empowers students to challenge themselves and reach their full potential. The internationally recognised qualifications our students earn open doors to universities around the world, reflecting our dedication to preparing them for global success.

We take pride in developing a school community grounded in understanding and mutual respect. To promote inclusivity and creativity, we offer a variety of activities, including international theme weeks, school shows, the International Award programme, and clubs such as Chinese, chess, and music band. Students also benefit from regular cultural excursions and additional sports activities at local venues. For those seeking a deeper cultural immersion, boarding with a French host family provides invaluable support and firsthand experience of French life.

Our students are encouraged to engage in a sustainable lifestyle, to develop a critical understanding of world issues and be inspired to become interculturally competent global citizens.
