Hamelin-Laie °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ Barcelona is a thriving community of over 55 nationalities, where students learn in English as well as Spanish and Catalan. Part of the Nord Anglia Education family, we shape open-minded citizens who'll make their mark in our globalized world.

Our vibrant international community is a place where your child will embrace exciting learning experiences both in and outside the classroom. At our private international school, we'll also give them opportunities to connect with the world around them, ensuring they develop a truly global outlook.

Whatever your child wants to do or be in life, we'll ensure they have everything they need for success. Our talented teachers will guide them through their unique learning journey, encouraging their interests, passions, and talents.

Our history:

Hamelin-Laie °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ Barcelona opened its doors in 1989. We were the first private school in Barcelona to offer learning in English, Spanish, and Catalan. Authorised by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain (MEC) – and the world-renowned International Baccalaureate – we continue to be the leading multilingual school in the region.

Since our founding, Hamelin-Laie has continued to grow, and we have added a premium boarding programme that's home to a diverse international community of up to 45 students.

We're proud to be part of the Nord Anglia family, an international schools' group with an outstanding reputation for academic and personal excellence worldwide.

Academic Excellence:

At Hamelin-Laie, our students immerse themselves in a bespoke academic programme adapted from the Spanish National Curriculum with many integrated global contexts, from our international learning environment. This is packed with engaging experiences, and project-based learning to foster emotional, social, listening, and critical thinking skills.

A Leading International Education Pathway

Our school is a fully accredited provider of the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC), and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). Our students begin their international learning journey in Nursery and Reception with the IEYC, progress to the IPC from Years 2 to 6, and transition into the IMYC for Years 7 to 10.

These curricula, developed by the International Curriculum Association (ICA) – a global leader in educational innovation since 1984 – promote inquiry-led, thematic learning rooted in international best practices.

In Years 10 and 11, students follow our bespoke Pre-Baccalaureate curriculum, designed to equip them with the academic, personal, and linguistic foundations required to thrive in the next stage of their education. This programme serves as a bridge to the next stage, depending on each student's goals.

From Years 12 to 13, students choose between two academically rigorous pathways:

  • The IB Diploma Programme, a globally recognised qualification that nurtures critical thinking, global-mindedness, and academic excellence. Hamelin-Laie boasts a pass rate of 98% in recent years, significantly above the global average
  • The Spanish National Baccalaureate, which offers an in-depth curriculum aligned with national university entry requirements.

At Hamelin, we are proud to offer a comprehensive international education that combines excellence, choice, and personalised careers guidance support to prepare students for success at top universities around the world.

Our Campus:

The Hamelin-Laie °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ Barcelona campus is unlike any other. Situated in the safe and friendly town of Montgat, just 20 minutes from the historic heart of Barcelona, our modern, purpose-built school environment is surrounded by green spaces and natural beauty.

Our cleverly designed, free-flowing areas enable students to take in everything our extraordinary beachside location offers. Sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea and local mountains inspire them, as they learn and play indoors and outside.

Boarding: An Exceptional °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ Away from °ÙÐãÖ±²¥

Hamelin-Laie °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ Barcelona is so much more than a school for our boarders. We're a second family, a thriving international community in Spain, and a place where 24/7 care, guidance, and friendship inspire our students to make their mark.

Your child will join a close-knit community of up to 50 secondary students, supported by our caring House parents and dedicated staff. They'll be guided throughout their time here by our boarding staff, who are available around the clock to provide invaluable support.

Living and studying in our international boarding house builds our students' confidence and independence, as they get ready to take on the world.

Global Awareness

At Hamelin-Laie, we want our students to have an open-minded worldview. Enhancing their global awareness becomes a key aspect of this, including how they connect with and help others.

We'd love to show you around our campus either in person or online, where we'll discuss how we can prepare your child for an extraordinary future. Contact us at <B>admissions@hamelinschool.com or take our virtual tour: https://guiap.com/360/hamelinschool/
