My Place to Grow. Since 1926.

We believe every child has talent. Our mission is to nurture this talent.

We are a Swiss international day and boarding school on the idyllic Zugerberg, on the doorstep of the vibrant city of Zug. Institut Montana Switzerland offers Swiss academic pathways (accredited by the Canton of Zug) as well as international programmes.

Currently, we host 360+ students from around 55 countries. They develop through our founding values: Internationalism, Individualism, Integration, and Innovation. Our dedicated teachers, small class sizes, high-quality teaching and co-curricular activities provide the optimal environment for our students to grow into strong, insightful, compassionate adults. This is the Montana Learning Experience.

Our Academic Pathways

  • The Swiss Bilingual Primary School for grades 1–6 where students will learn half of the subjects in German and the other half in English based on the Swiss curriculum. Boarding is available from the age of 10.
  • The Swiss Bilingual Secondary School for grades 7–9 is a bridge between primary and further education. With exceptional individual support the curriculum prepares students to transfer either to our Swiss Gymnasium (Schweizer Gymnasium) or to our °ÙÐãÖ±²¥.
  • The Swiss Gymnasium for grades 7–12 where students learn in German and English as well as learn French based on the Swiss curriculum. The Matura grants direct entry to top Swiss universities (ETH, HSG) and is recognised by universities worldwide.
  • The °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ for grades 6–12 where students join the Cambridge Programmes (CLSP and IGCSE) and the IB Diploma Programme or the High School Diploma. With the IB Diploma, students can access universities in Switzerland and around the world.

Student well-being is a top priority throughout the entire campus – not only in the classroom but across all aspects of school life. A dedicated care team provides round-the-clock care and support, ensuring a smooth transition to life away from home.

We also offer a 2-week Summer Camp for students aged 10–16 years old in July where they will learn German or English alongside various activities and take field trips. As our summer motto goes, this is the place where students Learn. Grow. Move. Meet.
