Established in 1958, St George's British °ÙÐãÖ±²¥ is a leading independent, not-for-profit school offering a world-class education to internationally-minded families in Rome. With more than 100 nationalities represented, it is one of the most diverse international schools in Europe, providing a truly global learning environment.
The school delivers an enhanced version of the UK National Curriculum through to IGCSE, followed by two distinct Post-16 pathways: the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IDBP) and A-Levels, both supported by the NEASC-accredited High School Diploma. Graduates progress to many of the world's top universities, including Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, Caltech, and NYU.
St George's is spread across two campuses. The La Storta campus (ages 3–18) is undergoing major development and has expanded to 25 acres, with dedicated Junior and Senior School facilities, state-of-the-art learning spaces, and a new indoor swimming pool. Its extensive infrastructure includes specialist science, art, and design studios, as well as two multi-sport AstroTurf pitches, courts, and an Olympic running track. The school is proud to be Newcastle United Foundation’s first Football School Partner.
The City Centre campus, near the Vatican, offers a modern, purpose-built Junior School setting with a 25m pool, auditorium, and excellent cultural connections.
Creativity and personal development are strongly nurtured through music, drama, and performance. The school is an ABRSM centre, and pupils regularly achieve distinction in music examinations. Opportunities also include Model United Nations, sustainability projects, and a wide range of service activities. Teachers are predominantly UK-trained and native English speakers, ensuring academic rigour alongside a supportive and inclusive pastoral ethos.
Named among Europe's top international schools by the Spears and Carfax Schools Index, St George's continues to set the benchmark for excellence in British international education.
