The École: Where Bilingual Education Creates World Citizens
Nestled in the heart of Manhattan's Flatiron District, The École stands out as a nurturing, innovative, and international independent school committed to bilingual and bicultural excellence. Guided by its mission statement – WE CARE – The École blends the best of French and American education to foster intellectual curiosity, emotional intelligence, and global citizenship in students from Pre-Nursery through 8th Grade.
Since its founding in 2009, The École has evolved into a dynamic educational community. Its bilingual program is thoughtfully designed, immersing students in both French and English from their earliest years. Native-speaking educators lead rigorous and engaging instruction aligned with the French Ministry of Education and New York State standards, seamlessly integrating cultural perspectives and pedagogical practices.
The school's two-building Flatiron campus includes the Maternelle Building at 206 Fifth Avenue for Pre-Nursery through Kindergarten and the Elementary & Middle School Building at 115 East 22nd Street for 1st though 8th Grade. In 2022, The École launched a High School Track in partnership with Léman Manhattan Preparatory School, allowing students to continue their bilingual journey toward the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. High school placement guidance ensures graduates are prepared for top-tier public and private schools in New York, France, and beyond.
At every stage, The École emphasizes personal growth, adaptability, and creativity. From early Mandarin and Spanish instruction to after-school programs in art, coding, and athletics, students enjoy a holistic learning experience.
Supported by affiliations with AEFE, MLF, NAIS, and AFSA, The École is deeply connected to a global educational network. Families benefit from tuition assistance, flexible programs, and a warm, inclusive school culture.
At The École, students are more than bilingual – they are bi-literate, culturally agile, and inspired to lead with care and confidence in an ever-changing world.
