An introduction

Founded in 1788, RMS for Girls is one of England's oldest girls' schools. RMS embraces a distinctive approach, challenging pupils daily to be committed learners who also support others. In return, staff continually stretch and support them, instilling the importance of preparation, effort, and self-belief. This empowers RMS pupils to leave with the confidence to make a difference in the world.

Location

Set within 315 acres of parkland, RMS enjoys a safe and wonderful location just 22 minutes from central London and 25 minutes from Heathrow.

Community

RMS welcomes pupils aged 2 to 18, with boarding from age eight. Their broad curriculum and over 100 co-curricular activities ensure every girl discovers her niche and thrives. RMS is particularly proud of the strong integration between its cosmopolitan boarding community and day pupils, fostering a comfortable and supportive 21st-century boarding environment.

Facilities

RMS boasts exceptional facilities, including a planetarium and an observatory. Their sports centre features a gymnasium, sports hall, fitness suite, yoga studio, and squash courts, alongside an Astroturf pitch, and a six-hole golf course. School facilities include multiple tennis, netball, and cricket facilities and an indoor heated swimming pool.

Creative pursuits thrive in separate Art, Textiles, and Photography departments, plus a top of the range Food & Nutrition classroom as we well as a dedicated Performing Arts Centre with a recital suite, green room, and recording studio.

Why RMS?

The decision of where to educate your daughter is an important one; arguably one of the most important decisions you will make on behalf of your child. Learning at RMS inspires pupils to explore what matters to them and to see themselves in futures they may not have imagined. As experts in girls' education, we understand how girls prefer to learn. Pupils at RMS are guided and supported and given the opportunity to expand their horizons. They are encouraged to think critically, creatively and collaboratively. Above all, RMS girls are happy, balanced and will become the best version of themselves.
